a poem i wrote a while back...

Come to me

Temptress of all that is pure
Envelop me in your warmth
Flood me with your secrets
Draw from me my fears
Taste the pain from my lips
Color me crimson graphite
Cloud my memories of all that is false
Give to me trust and comfort and safety
Elixer of souls - devour me

eggs

eggs take 45 seconds before they explode in the microwave.

lazy

although i have been away all weekends the past month, and the end of the school year was stressful, and i'm still at the bar, i consider myself lazy. i base this on the fact that i am perfectly comfortable lying in bed watching the complete 4th season of buffy on dvd. a little over a year ago, i completed my fourth marathon. it was my worst time, but my best marathon as it was new york, my home town. the energy and cultures there, along with my parents at mile 16 made all the pain of my pulled groin, and 6 weeks of training worth it. so, back to laziness... i have pretty much been sedentary since then. i'll hash, but not really run much. i drive by my gym four times a week whether i need it or not, and i pretty much eat what i want. i am however disappointed in my physical fitness, yet can't seem to get out of this funk i am in. maybe i need to run with people on a regular basis. maybe i need to eat better, work less, travel more. i do not know what it will take, but i did run 2 miles today. that's a start right???

wissshhh

decided to not be one of the cool kids this weekend at wissshhh. i've been traveling too much recently, and need to take care of my house, my gardens, myself. i'll still do all of that in a bad mood. rrrrrrrrrrr.

School's out for summer!

i just finished my fifteenth... FIFTEENTH year of teaching. this year was a bit different as i left my tech position to teach a fifth grade class for two months. the teacher in that class was forced out by the administration and the class was out of control. i took over, and am happy to say they all passed.

my sister had a baby last weekend. she had been trying and trying, and after two miscarriages, she was sucessful. i'll head out to colorado to see them this summer.

Hashed in charlotte this past weekend for their 600th. it was a very fun time, i served the blue, and surprisingly got very few glares and snarles the next day. maybe people are learning to not down mug after mug of it. i must improve the formula.....

well, i'm turning 37 in a week or so. and thinking back, i have nothing to do. i'll be working at the bar, doing nothing special getting older. life sometimes is unfair.

enough for now. i'll try to be more current in the future.
